Welcome to Art! My name is Katelynn Brown and I am excited to be at Platte Purchase Middle School! I received my Bachelor of Science in Art Education from Missouri Western State University in 2014 and have been teaching ever since. I have previously taught in Bethany, MO and Edwardsville, KS. I did my student teaching in the Platte County School District and am so excited to be here as a teacher!

My class is a safe environment where students can express themselves through art. I believe art is a skill that can be taught and developed. Your student(s) will be exploring a variety of art forms including drawing, painting, sculpture, and ceramics. My favorite aspect of teaching art is watching my students grow both as artists and as people.

Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my husband and son. I also enjoy watching comedies, dancing, shopping at Target, and making art of my own when I get a free moment.
